Last thank you

This is the last one of the set for the order. I was always afraid to use the Because I Care stamp set.  I love it but was afraid of washing out the flowers with my coloring.  Gotta make it look real you know.  So I thought I would color with a couple of different colors.  Turned out pretty good I think.  I added some stickles to the flower centers too.
A little butterfly using the Sizzlits from SU! I layered CS on vellum with a little dab of stickles in the center, as well as the little blossom on the sentiment. A very rich-looking card I think, but I like how it turned out.

That's it for today.  I will be sharing a little project I made for a special friend soon.  Can't show you though until she gets it in the mail first :) Sorry but can't spoil the surprise.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend and I hope I get a ton of projects complete.

Thank you very much

Today is a quick post.  I'm sharing another simple card with you.  Using some DSP, the Daisy 2 Big Shot die, butterfly sizzlits and a MS punch and it's complete.  Oh, and some ribbon and a little bling too.

I also used my Stamp-a-majig for the sentiment.  If I did't, it wouldn't have been straight.

I love Fridays!  They are the first day of the weekend and usually we watch a movie with dinner and then I can head down to MY room to work on my projects.  Don't forget on May long weekend, Rutland May days will be going.  It starts on the 18th until the 22nd.  It's fun just talking and watching all the people, plus all the rides and food.  You need to mark it on your calendars!!  Hope you drop by and don't forget to enter to win door prizes.  In the hall, is all the crafters and you should see some of the stuff.  So much talent. You can click on the links at the top of the page (link above) and there will be a list growing.

Enjoy your weekend and get lots done!!

Thanks So Much again

I saw this card on a blog a while back and absolutely loved it's simplicity.  Sorry I can't remember which blog, but will definitely add it when I find it.  If you know, please tell.

I used Tempting Turquoise and sponged with Taken with Teal to add a little dimension to the butterflies, along with the pearls.  Did you notice there is no glitter?  LOL

See, pretty simple and ..........pretty.  Think I will do some more of these and find the blog where I first saw them.  It's gonna bug me now if I don't.

Have a great day and be creative :)

Motorcycle Birthday

I always struggle putting together masculine cards.  Never the image since I have a few of those to choose from.  Just the DSP, colors and layout.  I needed to come up with a birthday card for a good friend of ours.  His health isn't very good and he spends lots of time looking after his wife who also isn't doing that great and working.  Hope this brings a smile :)

I love this DSP from SU!  It's retired, can't remember its' name, but I love it.  I stamped and embossed the motorcycle from SU!  Colored with copics.  There is a whole bunch of silver on this but not sure you can see it.
I sponged both pieces of white cardstock with Baja Breeze.  You can see a little of the embossing folder I used on the Night of Navy.

That's it for today.  Hope you have sun shining wherever you are and spring weather all around.

Special Note of Thanks

Continuing with my thank you cards, I did a cute kind of thank you card.  I used the Cheep Talk stamp set, Taken with Teal cardstock with Cameo Coral.  I even used my Stamp-a-majig from SU! to get the sentiment to line up.  I can never get it straight so I needed to use it.

Can you guess what this is?
This was done with my embroidery/sewing machine and an in-the-hoop project.  So much fun to do these.
It's an little owl scissor holder......................
wearing glasses :)  Cute huh? Never lose them again.

They will always be handy since they can hang around your neck and never get lost.  Unless you forget to put them back like I do.   Perfect for all crafters!  Cute teachers' gift or birthday..........anyone that crafts needs one in their craft supplies.  This one is done in pink/brown combo.

I'm off.  Got lots planned for today.  Kids back to school so I hope to accomplish a whole bunch of stuff.  Wish me luck :)

Thanks So Much

In between working with my husband, I was also trying to keep up with my orders and projects.  There just isn't enough time in a day.  I have neglected so much because I was busy doing other things and plan on making some big changes.  Prioritize is first and then organize.  I don't like feeling frazzled when I go in my studio and overwhelmed some days.  Feeling guilty for not staying on top of everything.  I want to do it all and have to realize I just can't.  Or at least not in the timeframe I want to.

Anyway, a friend came to me asking me to make her an order of thank you cards.  She looked at the card store and didn't like what she found so asked if I would do her a set of 5, so she had some available.
I wanted to share one today.
Love this color combo.  Bright and springy. The flower is from SU! Friends 24-7 and Thanks so Much is Sincere Salutations.  The border punch is also from Stampin' Up! as is the cardstock.  Cameo Coral and Kiwi Kiss was used.

And of course, it's not complete without my little butterflies and a little bling :) See them?

Got lots more to share with you so want to keep on with my posts.  Feels good getting back to my blog.
I'm also prepping for Rutland May Days too.  Lots of projects and ideas to get done.  May long weekend isn't that far away, so I need all the time I can. Check out the link to see what entertainment and other vendors will be there.  I am really looking forward to it this year.  The band Chilliwack is coming. Please don't tell me you don't know who they are. Someone told me I was aging myself when I told them they were performing.  She had no idea who they were - I was shocked! I thought everyone did. Guess I was wrong.
Regardless, you should still come and enjoy the entertainment, food, rides galore and all the fun.  Come by and say hi :)  Crossing my fingers for sunshine this year.

Happy Easter!

I didn't realize so much time had passed since I was last hear.  WOW - so sorry.  Time passes when you are having fun :)

I have been working with my hubby.  He had a deadline to meet on the house he's been working on. He is a contractor/builder.  He had gutted a house and had to basically help the tenants come up with a plan to make it work better for their family.  The upstairs wasn't bad, but the basement definitely wouldn't work.  So he gut though whole thing and made a new floor plan.  Everything was going great until about 3 weeks ago.  A fire broke out in the attic. Seems the guy that used to live there did a really bad job on the electrical.  We were told the fire had been going and snuffing itself out for at least 2 years from what the Fire Dept could tell.  Anyway, long story short, the fire set the schedule back a couple of weeks.  The new owners, of course, had a timeline to move in as well.  So our sons and myself helped out.  I would work until school got out, I would pick up the kids and we would all then head over to the jobsite.  We finally did the last of it yesterday.  The only thing still waiting to come is the countertops which will be next week.  I'm glad it is done though and it was kind of cool with us all working together.
I left them this little housewarming gift since they had to wait an extra week to move in with the fire set back.

Aren't they cute?  I love them.  Here is a closeup.

I think I will definitely do some sets like this for May Days.  Everyone loved them.  We're going to help them move in tomorrow so I will see what they thought then.

I also had a friend who I needed to send a sympathy card to.  I struggle sometimes to make them, as most do, but I knew I wanted to make it pretty and cheerful with color.

This is using the Stampin' Up! Elements of Style stamp set and Because I Care.  I used Marina Mist and Crumb Cake.  The image is stamped with black ink on Watercolor paper and clear embossed.  Watercolored with the stamp pads and a watercolor brush.  The butterflies embosslits was also used for the little butterfly, sponged and glittered.  The ribbon was tied into a bow using the Bow-Easy.  This little tool is so awesome.  You can tie 7 different sizes using this. I also misted the front with Smooch Spritz in a bronze color.  Took a few tries cause the first time was all over my fingers. LOL

That's it for today.  Thank you for stopping in.
Wishing you all a Happy Easter!!

Zebra Eyes revealed

I have been wanting to share this with you since I posted the sneak peek a while ago.  I lent it to my girlfriend who wanted to show it to some gals at work.  I got it back from her and then lost my camera, then had no internet, so now I going to share it today - finally!

I've said in the past that I am loving embroidery.  I am addicted big time - just as much as sewing.  Being able to personalize with embroidery now for the special person or the embroidery to match the fabric - it's easy now.

This was a design that I got and I knew what I wanted to do with it immediately and where the fabric was that I needed to get.  So I went to Linda's Quilt Shoppe, got the fabric and went to work on this tote bag.

Here is the front of it.  Fairly plain so I added the rust/coffee color to help "pop" the color from the fabric.

I also added some pockets to both sides of the inside of the tote, since it didn't call for any.  Pockets are important to me and I think most gals like to have them. Right?

I used the main fabric for the pockets and kept the rust/coffee color for the inside.

Here is the top closure.  I love the idea of  having the zipper flat like this.  Some of my friends were teasing me that it wasn't finished because the zipper was still hanging out.  This way though, the zipper extends past the tote top and doesn't curl at the ends being in the side seams.  Here is another view:

You can see how the ends of the zipper were finished.  A piece of  fabric holds on to each end.
I hope you liked my Zebra eyes tote.  I have a few more ideas that I will be trying to do as well.  Do you all know who Maxine and friends is? The crabby old lady that always has something sarcastic to say?  I love her and will be sharing some designs with her and her friends as well.  Plus my quilt blocks that I am working on are coming along great so need to show you those too.

Stop back again soon and hope your weekend is creative.  So far, mine is :)

Thinking of you

Hello................glad you popped in.
It has been raining so much here.  Some days of sunshine and it is warm when it shines. But I don't like this much rain.  Supposed to be nice this weekend so let's cross our fingers :)

Today I am going to share a card that was done but I forgot to share it with you.  I like to have "thinking of you" cards on hand to send out whenever I want to surprise someone.  I don't send them as often as I should, but plan on making lots more and sending lots more.

This stamp set is an oldie from Flourishes.  I have had it for awhile but not used it much.  This image along with the embossing folder has always reminded me of European buildings for some reason.  Maybe the stucco look and the shape of the window.  Not sure, but that's what I was going with.  Do you see that too?

Anyway, I stamped the shape of the window and cut it out.  Then did the same with the sad lady, even around her fingertips.  The little birdie is holding a cute love letter and was also cut out. Her shirt was also paper pieced.

The coloring was done with pencil crayons and gamsol.  Haven't used it in a long while so decided to try it.

Now to get a few more of these made up.  I want to have a stash of cards, all occasions, ready to be used.  Now is the time the kids start going to birthday parties.  Not so much my boys (cause that ain't cool), but definitely my daughter. She's already gone to one last week and has another to go to in a week.  I always make the gift too so need to be prepped in plenty of time.  I make the girls the hooded beach towels this time of year with a journal and then a few other little things my daughter picks out. They always love the towels - yay!!

Well off I go, get my next sewing project done.  Nearly there and then some more cards.
Enjoy the weekend..................
